Marcel makes it big

College life was pretty mundane for Marcel. He and his high-school sweetie, Margaret Turner, moved into the dorms together. They occasionally spent time with a few choice friends, but for the most part they both kept to themselves or were seen talking in quiet voices to each other. Margaret majored in Mathematics and Marcel in Biology. Both managed to graduate with a 4.0.

Immediately after returning home to Torrential Valley, Marcel bought a house for himself & Margaret and promptly asked her to marry him. They invited his family and their college friends over and had a very informal ceremony in their very bare living room. (Good picture below of Carter & Sharlene Uglacy in their Elder years).

Soon after tying the knot, Marcel landed himself a job in the Education field as a College Dean of Students. He doesn't have any real career goals - being a Family sim, his LTW is to marry off 6 kids - so I picked the Education career for him because it paid really well right off the bat (and they only had $226 as you can see) and it gives a really nice career reward. Margaret rolled a want to get a job in Adventure, Science or Medicine and luckily for her an opening in the Adventure career was available so she took that. She didn't start out nearly as high up as Marcel did, but then again, she graduated college with fewer skills than he had. It's a good thing they got jobs as quickly as they did b/c Margaret was knocked-up by the time they turned in for the night.

Marcel really wanted to start his family, but was too anxious to wait for Margaret to give birth, so he adopted a puppy named Sadie.

Margaret finally had the baby…er…babies. Harmony and Melody were born shortly after Marcel returned from work one night.

By the end of their first week back in the neighborhood Margaret had managed to max all 7 skills and was perma plat. I'm still working fulfilling her aspiration meter, but it's going well. I had to move them out of their first home b/c it seemed to be bugged - it had snow when I moved them in, and even in the middle of summer the snow never melted.

Marcel adopted another dog to keep Sadie company and when the week was over she was pregnant. We'll see how my puppy-raising skills are. I'm hoping that since Marcel doesn't have to work on skills he can spend time training dogs and then can sell them for a nice profit. I've never spent much time working on pet skills b/c I always had to work on my Sims skills instead. This will be yet another aspect of the game I've never tried before.
