It sucks to be poor. After buying his home, Carter had all of $93 left. When Mr. Humble delivered his new computer, he had to sell it just to be able to buy a bed!
His first visitors were useless - Wanda Tinker, Lisa Ramirez and that guy that runs the bakery with his mom. However, he soon got a call from Robin Miceli asking to go Downtown. Now in the normal course of business, I would absolutely not allow my Sims to go Downtown just for fun. Such a waste of time. Carter, however, is on a hunt for a mate now that he has landed himself a job as a test-tube scrubber in the Science career. Here's to hoping Downtown will offer a variety of ugliness to choose from!
Wouldn't you know it! The whole taxi load is a bunch of guys, except for Robin, who I think is too pretty for Carter. We'll have to keep hunting, I suppose.
Maybe his luck has changed. It just so happens that this chick with a funky dress on and haunting red eyes shows up (custom skins, remember). At the end of their very first conversation, Carter has a 21 daily relationship with Contessa Sharlene Inada. He immediately rolls a want to ask her on a date. Amazingly, she accepts!
After a night of poker, dancing and really bad karaoke (I mean BAD), Carter and Sharlene had a great first date. I know what you're thinking. She's not horribly ugly, so why is Carter on a date with her? Because of the Vampire factor (plus he has two bolts with her). Carter got brave and asked her to bite Rickey Cormier. That kid just irritates everybody. Now lets see how fast vampirism spreads through the townies of Torrential Valley. Now that we have vampirism started, back to finding a suitable mate for poor Carter. I can't help but feel sorry for the guy - he's destined to live his life with an ugly woman.
Sharlene was very sweet and left Carter a rose by his front door - a rose he promptly sold for $15. What can I say? The man is just not sentimental.
The next day at work, Carter chose to take a blue pill instead of a red pill and ended up gaining a logic skill point. Then he managed to get himself a promotion. Now he can buy a stove and a sink!
That next night, Sharlene called and Carter ended up inviting her over. The played football in the rain and had an overall very romantic (but wet) night together. Sharlene was invited to spend the night and she wholeheartedly agreed. They're first kiss was shared in front of his house in the rain.
By the end of the night, Carter has asked Sharlene to move in with him. It seemed inevitable. They were already at 100 daily and 60 lifetime and they got along very well. Sharlene brought $50,000 with her, which will make a nice boost the Carter's household wealth. At least provide some furniture! Shockingly, Sharlene asked Carter to marry her and he turned her down! What is that about? Maybe it isn't inevitable after all!
What will happen to Carter & Sharlene? Will she forgive him for breaking her heart? Will they end up married or will she be destined to return to the citizens of Downtown without a ring on her finger? Stay tuned to find out!
