The Breeding of Uglacies

Carter was, luckily, able to find a decent paying job in the Entertainment industry as a stand-up comedian after his ethical mistake that resulted in him being fired.

Little Eddie, unfortunately, seems to be growing out of his ugliness. Poor guy. I'm gonna have to find him some disgusting little townie to marry him off to. He certainly doesn't know what life has in store for him. To bad he can't be turned on my huge lips or sunken noses. And, on top of his life of ugliness, the rest of the town will suffer b/c little Marsha Bruenig will never grow up. She's too pretty to marry into the Uglacies, I'm afraid. So unending calls are in my future.

Uh oh. I have this population control rule in all of my Prosperity 'hoods. Only 1 kid per family unless there is a LTW related to number of kids (marry off 6 kids, graduate 3 from college, etc). Also, I have the accidental pregnancy hack (or whatever it's called). Well, Carter & Sharlene were on a date (both are Pleasure Sims, remember) and they woo hoo'd. Guess what? Sharlene is knocked-up again. Tragic! I didn't want her preggers again! Their kids are too pretty!

Christmas came to the Uglacy home. They had a pretty tree, put out the fire in the wood stove so Santa could try to wiggle down the chimney and anxiously awaited presents. Stupid Santa brought a RC Car! Too bad they had to return it. Sharlene really wanted that cute little snowman statue she had seen at the local Wal-Mart, so she exchanged the RC Car for it and pocketed the difference (a girl needs her pocket change, right?).

Eddie grew up to be an uglier teen that I expected. He has his dad's wide jaw and his mom's eye orientation, so it make him look cross-eyed most of the time. Maybe he will be able to produce a true line of Uglacies. If I can just find a suitably ugly mate - I may need the help of my audience on that one. When he goes to college I'll find some co-eds and give you guys the opportunity to vote on who his ugly wife should be. How does that sound?

Sharlene had her baby. Marcel looks like he's going to have his mothers fairer features. So far as a toddler he's not showing any signs of favoring that strong jaw. Maybe I can turn this 'hood into an Uglacy vs. Prettacy and see if I can make beautiful heirs for Marcel and ugly ones for Eddie. That could be an interesting way to play this out, now that I think about it.

Anyway, back to the story. Eddie managed to max both his mechanical and creativity before aging to teen. Now, he is almost maxed on Logic (at 9, I think) and will then begin working on Cooking. I rolled a Knowledge aspiration for him with Fortune as his secondary aspiration. He is definitely the most motivated Sim I've played in a while. All he wants is to make money and earn skill points! Those are the kinds of Sims I like to play! I'm hoping to get him maxed in all skills before college (something I've never done before) and get him all the scholarships, if I have time to work on dance and pool. Eddie has also started a garden of 12 tomato plants.

Marcel is already 2 days from aging to child and has maxed his mechanical skill, learned all his toddler skills and has been in platinum since he grew to toddler.

Carter has worked himself up in the Entertainment career to the level above ventriloquist (whatever that is) and Sharlene is Project Leader in the Science career. It doesn't look like Carter's questionable ethics caused her any difficulty. Of course, her maternity leave came shortly after Carter was fired, so maybe everybody forgot in her absence. Sharlene has also managed to get herself a bronze fishing badge (something else I've never done). I'm wondering - their refrigerator was empty when I saved…can they catch enough fish and grow enough produce so that I won't have to buy them groceries? That would be nice...

I guess that's it for now. Sorry for the lack of pictures. I usually play in windowed mode, but downloaded some stuff from the Sims2 Store and have been using that shortcut to start the game so it loads full screen and I forget to Alt-Tab out to blog which reminds me to take snapshots. I'm going right now to change that shortcut to windowed mode, too. *reminder to self…/w in shortcut*
